We established these awards to recognise our own who otherwise will often be missed. We wanted to acknowledge partners who are doing a great deal in steering inclusion, diversity, and equity forward. We have made major inroads, and we are so proud. This year we have added a new category which will be announced on the night.
These awards recognise young achievers up to 18 and adult achievers above 18 who have exhibited remarkable excellence in their chosen fields. They embody the spirit of unity, change and progress, enhancing our community’s collective tapestry.
“Twenty-One Portraits” is a project by Basingstoke Unites Against Racism (BUAR) highlighting the challenges of racism and discrimination while promoting positive change and confidence within the black community and other potential victims. This year, we have utilised this platform to shine a light on Black women in line with the theme of Black History Month 2023 – ‘Saluting Our Sisters.’
The CDC Champion Award is an accolade reserved for organisations that have excelled in their pursuit of diversity, inclusion, and equity objectives. This award acknowledges their remarkable efforts in supporting our goals while fostering an environment of belonging for all.
